More than just a place to live
East Van Cohousing is a newly established cohousing community in Vancouver's Renfrew-Collingwood neighbourhood.
Our project is in the planning and design phase, and we aim to move in by the fall of 2026.
We're open to new members who are looking to own a unit in our cohousing community.
Our project
Shared amenities
East Van Cohousing will be built around a shared “common house” for socializing and community activities, including a large shared dining room and kitchen.
We have also planned for a dedicated playroom, a guest suite, a co-working space, a workshop, bike storage, personal storage, car parking (likely with EV chargers), and a rooftop garden. And if we're lucky, maybe even a small sauna.
Expert support
While decisions about our project are guided by our community members, we hire high-quality expertise at every stage of the project.
Our community is proudly facilitated by the Amisto Cohousing Society. Our building design has been supported by distinguished architect and Cohousing expert, Charles Durrett, whose most recent book is “Cohousing Communities.”
Site location
Our cohousing community will be at 2728-2748 Duke Street, a quiet, green, residential street in the beautiful Norquay area in South-East Vancouver.
The site is a 10-minute walk to 29th Ave Skytrain (on the Expo line), near multiple bus stops and bike routes.
Nearby are John Norquay Elementary, Windermere Secondary, and Renfrew Community Centre and Library. We're close to three parks - Slocan, the Renfrew Ravine, and Norquay.
